New Delhi: Coach Rahul Dravid has announced that opener KL Rahul will not play for India in the first two matches of the Asia Cup ODI tournament starting tomorrow. Rahul Dravid announced in a statement that he will not play for India in the first two matches of the tournament after recovering from injury. KL Rahul has been left out of the matches against Pakistan and Nepal.
Rahul, who has not fully recovered from his injury, has been included in the Indian squad for the BCCI six-nation Asia Cup tournament. But the national team coach Rahul Dravid has clarified that the player is currently sidelined not because of the thigh injury.

BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar had already hinted that the player is not fit even though he is fully fit. The actor, who recovered from a thigh injury, found himself struggling with another problem. Ajit Agarkar clarified that the team physio will provide a clarification on this later.
KL Rahul will remain at the National Cricket Academy and the decision will be made on September 4 whether the player will participate in the Asia Cup or not, said Rahul Dravid. KL Rahul was out of the Indian team for months due to injury during the IPL 2023 season. India’s first match in the Asia Cup is against Pakistan on September 2.
