The updated GPT-4 Turbo performs tasks like generating code “more carefully than the previous model” and is intended to reduce instances of “laziness” when the AI doesn’t fully respond to a request.
OpenAI also made changes to GPT-3.5 that improved its accuracy and fixed bugs when generating responses in non-English languages.
The cost of subscription to a later version has decreased by 50% – to $0.0005 per thousand tokens. On weekends the discount will be 25% ($0.0015).
In addition, the developers introduced new embedding models: text-embedding-3-small and text-embedding-3-large. They will serve as a replacement for the old text-embedding-ada-002 feature released in December 2022.
Embeddings are a tool that helps neural networks understand and use written text more efficiently. This happens by converting it into a format that computers can process.
The innovations provide improved performance and an increased size of the context window.
The company also introduced new ways for developers to manage API keys and interact with the interface.
Previously, OpenAI introduced an enterprise subscription plan for the chatbot with a 32 KB contextual window and custom GPTs plugins.
