OpenAI has released a standalone ChatGPT program for the Windows operating system.

Here’s what we know

Anyone can download the app in the Microsoft Store, but for now it will only work for paid ChatGPT subscribers.

The developers warn that the functionality of the Windows version will be limited and inferior to the version of the chatbot for macOS and web browsers, given that it is an application in the testing phase.

You can use Alt + Space shortcut to quickly open ChatGPT.

ChatGPT on Windows will answer a question, give information, support image generation and other features. Additionally, users will be able to upload images and photos which will be processed by the chatbot.

OpenAI promises that the Windows version of ChatGPT will be available to all users by the end of 2024.

The software is currently available in Plus, Enterprise, Team, and Education subscriptions.
