Open Science: Who owns science data?

Online event organized by La Tronche in Bias

The Scientific Research is mainly financed by public funds, it is a common good. Researchers produce many results, some are not exploited by the teams that produce them, many get lost, studies are published through an ecosystem of scientific journals, owned by private interests that severely limit public access to this work. , and more serious still, their access by other researchers.

It is time for a change in the world of research that finally brings it into line with one of the fundamental principles of science: free access to protocols and results. This is the “open science” project.

To talk about it : Nicolas Fressengeas, Professor of Physics and in charge of “Open Science” mission of theUniversity of Lorraine.
