An open relationship, Katja should not think about it. “We’ve never had a relationship in the sense of: ‘Are you going to Chantal’s tonight? Have fun!’ No, that seems pretty terrible to me and I really couldn’t and wouldn’t.”
Katja and Freek don’t need it at the moment and are much more enjoying it together. “It just feels different all of a sudden. Maybe it’s because of the little one.”

Where the couple used to go to all kinds of parties, that has also become a lot less. “I hope we don’t go to festivals and parties as often as we used to. We were partying a little too fanatically and that always comes at the expense of your peace, health and even your happiness.” The time when they went on for three days in a row is now behind them.
The urge to pop is also gone. “I find being at home with the children much more fun at the moment. Of course I love a party every now and then, but the right balance is essential.”

Where Katja and Freek made their wedding day a complete spectacle on a site that also hosts a festival, they are now taking it easy. For their two year wedding anniversary they went to a spa for two days. “Because you’ve been together again and had some rest, you come home completely different.”
