Open Face ID iPhone can already use masks, here’s how

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – iPhone users can already open Face ID by using a mask. This was in the iOS 15.4 update on Monday.

Users can immediately use this new feature by installing the iOS 15.4 update. After that, follow these steps, quoted from CNBC International, Tuesday (15/3/2022):

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Face ID & Passcode
  • Slide the toggle on turn on Face ID with a mask.
  • Scan or face scan, no need to use a mask for setup.

Unlocking Face ID with a mask also applies to Apple Pay. However the feature is limited to iPhone 12 or later and requires configuration.

The update also includes several other capabilities. From new emojis and services to accepting credit card payments without additional hardware.

Siri is also getting updates, one of which is a new voice. In addition, you can also ask about the time and date when offline.

There is also Universal Control, where users can drag and drop files between the iPad and Mac. The new iOS also brings the ability to scan text directly into a file in the Notes app.

SharePay is also more integrated, allowing you to share songs and other content via Face Time.

CNBC International notes this update may be the biggest of the year. Except for iOS 16 which is expected to be announced next June at Apple’s developer conference.
