Open Day in SP5. Why do the youngest want to go to Łokietek?

– I will probably go to school here, because it’s close to home – said 6-year-old Ola, who visited the school on Tuesday. “Actually, I have three schools close by, but my parents like this one the most.

Why? – we ask.

“Because they both went here.” We came to see if their teachers were still here. Mom told me who the teachers were cool and who wasn’t – admits a resolute girl.

Staś also associates his future with school. On the other hand, he likes the fact that he will have PE lessons at the swimming pool.

– Because I didn’t know how to swim and it wasn’t until we went to my grandma’s that I learned a little. And at school I could learn better – he says with hope in his voice.

Indeed, the sports part is what Łokietek advertises: – Our students take part in numerous sports competitions. We are proud because many of them achieve top places at the municipal, provincial and national level in various sports disciplines, there are also vocations to the national junior swimming team – says teacher Iwona Nazaruk. – They develop swimming passions and skills in sports championship branches and classes profiled in swimming, under the guidance of qualified coaching staff.

The school creates classes profiled in swimming (at the level of grades 1-3) and divisions of sports championships in swimming under the auspices of PZP (at the level of grades 4-8). There is also a profiled class in girls’ handball.

But “Piątka” puts a lot of emphasis also, and perhaps above all, on science. The graduates of the facility have been achieving one of the best results during the eighth-grader exam for years. Teachers, on the other hand, emphasize that in education and upbringing they carry out a mission expressed in the words “we will help you get to know the world, yourself, gain knowledge and we will teach you to live in harmony with others and yourself”.

The facility prepares students to obtain a certificate confirming the knowledge of the German language by implementing the DSD 1 (Deutsches Sprachdiplom) program in profiled classes. It is worth emphasizing that learning two foreign languages begins in grade 4.

In the school certified computer lab under the patronage Polish Information Technology Society the ECDL program is implemented.

There is also something on the border of learning and leisure, i.e. trips to summer and winter camps.
