Open-air season starts: These cinemas are now pulling it out

Summer in Hamburg is only really true when the cinemas are drawn outside. The good news: This week it’s finally that time again! With the Zeise and the 3001, the open-air cinema season will start in the coming days.

The Zeise starts this Friday: In the inner courtyard of the Altona town hall, the cinema is showing the latest films, audience hits and lots of premieres until August 30th – by the way, even when it rains (if the weather doesn’t suit you, you can buy your ticket on the same day after 7 p.m. for an indoor evening event at Zeise 1).

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” opens the Zeise Open Air on July 1st.

This year’s program opens with the surprise success “Everything Everywhere All At Once” about a launderette owner who can suddenly jump into parallel worlds – and has to save the world from evil (1 July, 9:45 p.m.).

In the coming days, among other things, the premiere of the drama “The time we share” (leading actor Lars Eidinger is expected as a guest; July 3rd, 9.30 p.m.) and a “Surf Film Night” (July 6th, 9.45 p.m.) . Tickets (10 euros/person) are available in advance at the cinema box office in Zeise zeise.de and at the evening box office in the town hall (from 30 minutes before the start).

“Film nights in the Schanzenpark” also start

On July 7th the 3001 starts with its “Film nights in the Schanzenpark” – with a preview of the romantic comedy “My Lessons With Leo” (officially starting a week later). Admission is here from 9 p.m., the film starts at 10 p.m. Here, too, current events are on the program, just like classics (e.g. “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on July 10th or “La Boum” on July 17th). Tickets for 10 euros per person are available in the cinema and in the Schanzenpark.

And the ElbFilmKunst association is again showing films in the open air. The special thing here: The cinema evenings take place at different locations in the district of Altona. On July 1st, for example, the silent film “Blancanieves” (2012) flickers across a large screen set up in Goßlers Park in Blankenese. The whole program, all locations and tickets (5 euros) are available here.

It won’t be long before the FilmRaum starts its outdoor season again: From July 22nd, current films and classics will be shown in the Eimsbüttel city park. More details “will follow shortly”, as the cinema team promises. All information is then available here.
