Open-air event in the artist village of Schöppingen: “Kino im kult” goes on tour

Free event organized by the Borken district (kult Westmünsterland), the artists’ village and the Schöppingen local history association on Friday, August 16, 2024 / Registration is requested

The cultural department of the Borken district (the district’s own kult Westmünsterland), together with the Schöppingen artists’ village and the Schöppingen local history association, invites you to a very special cinema experience: the “Kino im kult” series of events is going on tour. Its home is originally in the winter months at the kult Westmünsterland in Vreden. As an open-air event at the museum barn on the grounds of the Schöppingen artists’ village, the film “Pride” will be shown on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 9 p.m. Admission begins at 8 p.m. The event in the “Kino im kult” series is free of charge. However, you are asked to register with the Schöppingen artists’ village foundation by email at [email protected] or by calling 02555/938-10, as the number of seats is limited.

The 2014 film “Pride” by director Matthew Warchus is based on a true story. It tells the story of the association “Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners”, a group of gay activists who decide to support striking miners in Wales in the Thatcher era of the 1980s. A subsequent visit leads to a clash of cultures – on the one hand the big-city eccentrics, on the other the down-to-earth miners.

Further information on the series “Cinema in Cult” is also available in the quarterly magazine of the kult Westmünsterland at www.kult-westmuensterland.de/kultur-digital/digitale-angebote/quartalsprogramm/ to find.
