The SCHIFF open-air cinema Schiersteiner Hafen will start the next round from Thursday, August 11 to Sunday, August 21, 2022 and at the Reduit from Thursday, August 25 to Sunday, September 4, 2022. With 22 current films, there is something for every film lover.
This year, in addition to the Schiersteiner Hafen, the SCHIFF open-air cinema will also be taking place for the first time at the Reduit in Mainz-Kastel. For organizer Fabian Fischer it is clear: You have to have been here. The SCHIFF program has never been as extensive and diverse as this year.

A special highlight is the visit of the world record holder and extreme athlete Jonas Deichmann, who will personally present his film “Das Limit bin nur ich” at SCHIFF on Friday, August 12, 2022 and talk live about his circumnavigation of the world with the longest triathlon of all time.

From Hollywood blockbusters to independent films and a whole range of current German films, everything is there. Numerous German productions such as “Very beautiful”the school satire “Closed Society” to German comedy “love thing” everything is possible with Elyas M’Barek. Also the most successful films of the last cinema months like James Bond film “No Time To Die”, “Fantastic Beasts 3 – Dumbledore’s Secrets”, „The Batman“ and „Top Gun: Maverick“ or the movie about Elvis Presley’s Career are on the program.
Long-awaited multicultural hit
Our French neighbors show fun and adventure in their films. Last weekend, the long-awaited third part of the French multicultural hit will be shown at Schiersteiner Hafen “Monsieur Claude and his great party”. “Minions – In Search of the Mini Boss” the newest adventure of the Minions shouldn’t be missing on the SCHIFF either. The English nobility also come along the movie “Downton Abbey II – A New Era” the king visits the estate not too briefly.
