A new generation of model hierarchically placed between Crosslandem a Grandlandem X plays mainly a stylish note. Sharply cut shapes look as attractive live as in the photos. The contrast of the body color with the distinctive black plastic coating, as well as, for example, the black bonnet and black roof, as well as the distinctive 18-inch wheels, also contribute to this. The technical look is helped by the smart Matrix LED headlights in the newly conceived bow with a full mask (called Opel by Vizor) inspired by the legendary Manta coupe from the 1970s.
Sharply cut Mocha acts a bit like a prototype intended only for an exhibition. Its design will undoubtedly polarize people to sworn supporters and sworn opponents. And that’s certainly a good thing for this Opel, because due attention is certainly to the benefit of the market at the time of inflation.
The interior impression is also evoked by the interior with a nicely “tidy” minimalist dashboard, in which case Opel talks about the so-called visual detox. The driver has a large 12-inch screen in front of him, forming the instrument panel, and a central touch screen (7 or 10 inches) at the same height on the right side, with graphics very similar to those of the group’s siblings. All functions are not only controlled via the display, conventional buttons have been retained for the main ones. The overall design is clear and will please the compatibility of infotainment with both Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The steering wheel comes from Opel shelves, but a complete novelty is the automatic transmission selector, which, like the new Škoda Octavia forms a space-saving mini switch in the center tunnel slot.
At the first static acquaintance, we were fascinated by the very comfortable, spatially generous front seats with a long seat and good side guidance. On the contrary, a slight disappointment is the quite limited legroom of the rear passengers. The luggage was slightly reduced between generations, but even with a volume of 350 l, it is sufficient for common needs. Mokka does not play the role of a family car, Opel has other models on offer for these needs.
Otherwise, what we wrote earlier applies: front-wheel drive as with the sister models DS 3 Crossback or Peugeot 2008 basically, it provides a supercharged four-cylinder 1.2 l / 100 kW (130 hp), in conjunction with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. This is in the version with an output of 74 kW (100 hp) or 96 kW (130 hp). The greatest interest in this market is expected in our market. An alternative to it is a four-cylinder 1.5 CDTI diesel with an output of 81 kW (110 hp). It is only in combination with a six-level manual. For connoisseurs will also be available purely electric version of Mokka-e with a 50 kW battery and an electric motor with an output of 100 kW (136 hp). This is the same device that it uses as well Stroke-e. Electric Mokka with it reaches a top speed of 150 km / h and in ideal conditions it can travel up to 322 km on a single charge.
Prices on the Czech market are not known. In Germany, the cheapest version of Mokka will cost less than 20,000 euros (approximately 546,000 CZK) and Mokka-e will start at less than 33,000 euros (approximately 900,000 CZK).
