Opel Grandland: it’s time for restyling

A COMPLETE “FACE LIFTING” – Four years after the presentation, the medium crossover of the German company loses the X: now it is simply called Opel Grandland. But the most visible innovations are of a stylistic nature. The front changes radically with the adoption of the Vizor grille, which seems to incorporate the headlights, mounted flush, and gives more personality to the car. Speaking of the headlights, these are the new IntelliLux Led Pixels with 168 LED elements in total (84 per headlight), able to adapt the light beam according to driving conditions.

SIDE PANELS – The process of renewal of the Opel Grandland it is also clearly visible inside, where the designers have adopted a policy of rationalizing the keys. The two large screens, one of the instrumentation of 12 “and one of 10” in charge of the multimedia system Multimedia Navi Pro, compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto wireless, are placed inside a single panel that the house calls Opel Pure Panel. There are also active ergonomic seats for driver and front passenger certified by AGR specialists (Aktion Gesunder Rücken), which offer a wide range of adjustments, from the electric inclination of the backrest to the electro-pneumatic lumbar support (in the leather version there is heating and ventilation).

DRIVING ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS – The new Opel Grandland it is also “full” of driver assistance technologies. The system debuted Night Vision, which, using the infrared camera, detects pedestrians and animals in the dark up to 100 meters away, warning those behind the wheel and showing their position on the digital dashboard.

What the Opel calls it is also expected Highway Integration Assist, which, by associating adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function to the lane maintenance system, ensures that the car stays in the center of the lane, guaranteeing the distance to the vehicle in front. There is also a camera with 360 degree vision, which makes maneuvers easier and is also used for the parking assistant, and the blind spot alarm.

The standard equipment of the new Opel Grandland includes accident alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, alert in the event of unintentional crossing of the carriageway, traffic sign recognition, fatigue detection and cruise control.

UNCHANGED ENGINES? – The technical specifications of the new one have not been disclosed Opel Grandland, but there should be no differences from the previous version, which features the petrol 3 cylinder 1.2 with 131 HP and 4 cylinder 1.6 with 181 HP, the 4 cylinder 1.5 diesel with 131 or 177 HP and the plug-in hybrid with 225 or 299 CV, the latter with all-wheel drive.
