NAME CHANGE – The heir of the current one Opel Crossland change name. The model that by the end of 2024 will become Opel’s new compact SUV, it will in fact revive a historic name of the German brand, Fronteraname of the off-road vehicle produced in the 90s and early 2000s. The Opel Frontera it will be both electric and equipped with combustion engines and promises to offer a high level of space and versatility. With the name change the dimensions should also increase, going from 421 cm length of Crossland a approximately 430 cm.
THE NEW LOGO DEBUT – The Opel Frontera it will be closely related to the next generation Citroën C3 Aircross. The two cars will in fact share the platform and a good part of the body. What distinguishes the two will certainly be the front, which on the Frontera will show a new interpretation of Opel’s design philosophy, characterized by new Blitz logo of the brand, ready to debut on a production car on the Frontera. The new model “will have a confident character and will be positioned at the center of the market”, assures Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel.

BATTERY AND PETROL POWERED – The arrival of the Opel Frontera electric, together with the launch of the new generation of the larger Grandland, will mark an important step for the renewal of the range Opel in 2024. The electric variant should use the 154 hp single-motor configuration powered by a 54 kWh battery already used for several other models from the Stellantis group. As for the thermal version, we can instead expect the 3-cylinder 1.2 turbo mild hybrid with 136 HP, coupled to the dual-clutch automatic transmission.
