The Business Launch Edition is a fully equipped version of the Astra Electric. It has, for example, LED Pixel lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric glass sunroof, IntelliDrive 2.0 driver support systems, AGR-certified heated seats with premium Alcantara trim, parking assistant, 360-degree camera and wireless charging of mobile devices.

Efficiency suitable for everyday life

The new Astra Electric allows you to drive in the cleanest form – without emissions. Its electric motor has an output of 115 kW/156 hp and a maximum torque of 270 newton meters. The relatively low curb weight – 1,679 kilograms – increases both driving pleasure and efficiency. In addition, at a time when many other electric cars have a limited top speed, the new Astra Electric can reach 170 km/h.

The energy required for the electric motor is stored in a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is characterized by compact size, light weight, good range and short charging time. According to the WLTP, the five-door car has an average electricity consumption of only 14.8 kWh per 100 kilometers and can travel up to 418 km on a full charge.

In addition, recharging the electric Astra does not require a long pit stop at the charger. In the 100 kW DC fast station, the Astra Electric battery can be charged up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. In addition to that, the fully electric Astra already has a three-phase 11 kW built-in charger as standard, which can be used to connect to a private charging device or wall box. Also, the basic equipment of the machine includes a heat pump.

The Astra Electric’s luggage compartment volume in the standard configuration is 352 liters, but with the rear seatbacks folded down, the capacity increases to 1,268 liters.

Another advantage of the new model: the low location of the battery also lowers the car’s center of gravity, and the Astra Electric thus not only gets a stable stance on the road, but also allows the driver to take a sporty seating position. It is also important that, compared to the already excellent performance of the Astra versions, the torsional stiffness of the body of the Astra Electric is 31 percent higher.

The first Opel Astra Electric will reach dealers at the end of 2023.
