The farmers’ payments will be completed within June, while it is already being checked by the OKAY in three cases of coupled aid.
As the Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis pointed out in an interview on Crete TV, the new administration of OPEKEPE proceeded to check the 16,500 reserved VAT numbers. Already about 7,000 have been paid and about 800 have been sent to justice, while the audit continues. Also, all pending cases from 2014 are checked.
“Today we have a very high accuracy rate in terms of OPEKEPE commitments, but we want even higher. We still have a long way to go to fully domesticate the Organization”, said Lefteris Avgenakis.
The goals
The biggest challenge for Europe, said the Minister for Rural Development and Food, is to become more mobile and adaptive and to develop faster speeds.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade makes a special reference to the CAP and the need for its further revision, noting that its current form is the result of the majority of the socialists and the greens. He emphasized that in the 19 changes first proposed by Greece, with the aim of simplifying the CAP, it had as its allies the EPP countries which adopted them as well as the alliance of the countries of the south, the EUMED9 group, which was activated at the initiative of our country . “We say yes to the green transition but in a smooth, not violent way,” he said, pointing out that both the Greens and the Socialists do not have a clear position. He once again called on the Greek parties that belong to the specific Eurogroups to activate them in favor of the effort to revise the CAP. “We want farmers in the fields and not at service counters,” said Lefteris Avgenakis, emphasizing the emphasis placed on bureaucracy by the current CAP.
“We have achieved changes that affect the lives of our farmers,” said the Ministry of AAT, noting that with the decisions that have already been approved, those with small lots, i.e. under 100 acres, are exempted from controls.
However, he emphasized that the effort will continue so that by October, when the Committees change, the following will be achieved:
- Simplification of ecological schemes, as the 33 concerning our country are too many
- The 2% of CAP resources corresponding to each member state can be used to deal with disasters
- To allow the transfer of resources from pillar to pillar and from year to year, so that the maximum of the resources corresponding to each country can be utilized. “The way the CAP is designed today, no member state will manage to absorb 100% of the resources allocated to it”, noted the Ministry of AAT.
