OPEC’s Decision to Cut Oil Production Not Impacting Fuel Prices: ADAC Reports Slight Decrease in Petrol and Diesel Prices

Opec’s decision to cut oil production has not yet had an impact on fuel prices. As the ADAC has determined, both petrol and diesel have even become slightly cheaper compared to the previous week. The national average price for a liter of Super E10 fell by 0.8 cents to 1.795 euros, while diesel was half a cent cheaper at 1.579 euros. The difference between the two varieties remains stable at 21.6 cents and reflects the different taxation almost exactly.

The OPEC+ states announced on Sunday that they would continue to reduce oil production. This is intended to stabilize the oil price, which has been falling for some time, worldwide. As already expected by the ADAC, this did not have a noticeable impact on the market and price development, for example for the Brent variety. The oil allocations relevant to the German fuel price are largely unchanged.

Anyone planning to travel by car over the upcoming long weekend should take advantage of the price advantage at the petrol stations in the evening. According to ADAC, the best time to refuel is between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the evening. (awm)
