On 1presenter Talitha Muusse thinks it is sexist that the television critic of the AD called her an intern in a column. Muusse finds it extra bitter that that comment came from a woman, she says in an interview VIVA.
“Yes, that’s just sexism. By a woman, please. This would never be said to a young man. But she’s not the only one, you know. The ugly reactions I get are so often racist and sexist. I’m either the intern, or they’re trying to win a diversity cup. That’s so silly that it doesn’t really affect me anymore, “says Muusse.
29-year-old Muusse has been presenting since the beginning of this year On 1, together with Sven Kockelmann. Reviewer Angela de Jong thought that Muusse should be replaced, after the talk show was about the corona cells in the Netherlands.
“But here too the news was not found to be so serious that Jeroen Pauw was called to replace trainee Talitha Muusse,” De Jong wrote at the time.
‘That’s a personal frustration’
Muusse notices that some politicians at the talk show table also treat her differently, because they assume that she lacks certain knowledge. “I sometimes notice that politicians give me a different answer than Sven, acting, simplified. That is a personal frustration.”
Politicians should take her seriously precisely because of her relatively young age. “Young people have far fewer interests, they can ask very essential questions from this pure attitude.”
After the national elections, Kockelmann and Muusse stop presenting On 1 on Sunday. The Telegraph writes that the NPO is in talks with KRO-NCRV to keep the duo in a different way.
