Continuing its civic engagement and its solidarity and charitable actions, Ooredoo organized, in partnership with the National Blood Agency (ANS), a large blood donation campaign for its employees through its headquarters in Algiers, Oran and Constantine. .
This act of active solidarity, which is part of the celebration of ” World Rare Disease Day “, took place on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the level of the headquarters of Ooredoo in Algiers as well as at the level of its two regional headquarters of Oran and Constantine.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramdane Djazairi, stressed the importance of such an initiative for his company which encourages its employees at every opportunity to donate their blood to save lives “today more than a hundred employees responded to the heart’s call to donate blood in three wilayas of the country”.
Having become a tradition over the years at Ooredoo, this solidarity action, which is experiencing growing interest from year to year, has materialized through a great mobilization of volunteer employees who have responded favorably to this call from the heart, thus expressing their solidarity with Algerian society through this simple, noble and humanitarian gesture.
“This demonstration of great generosity by Ooredoo employees, which is of paramount importance for patients who need this vital material, is an opportunity to help save human lives, especially patients suffering from a deficiency in blood components”, added Mr. Djazari.
Mr. Djazairi recalled that Ooredoo has already organized in 2022, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day which coincides with June 14 each year, a similar operation and which has allowed the collection of more than 114 bags of blood, and help more than 300 patients.
According to him, “This act of volunteering by Ooredoo employees reflects the values of the company, particularly with regard to its commitment to Social Responsibility actions”.
For his part, Houma Samir, director of the general administration of the National Blood Agency (ANS) called on the employees of the mobile telephone operator to donate their blood for the good cause and also called on all citizens between the ages of 18 and 65 in good health to get closer to blood donation centers to save lives.
