Suspect intended to commit a mass shooting

An 18-year-old student from Ontario Christian High School has been taken into custody by the Ontario Police Department following concerns from a fellow student about his fixation with school shootings and his access to firearms. The individual, identified as Sebastian Villasenor, was arrested with multiple firearms and a significant amount of ammunition in his residence.

Ontario Police Chief Michael Lorenz revealed during a news conference that the suspect had “every intention” of carrying out a shooting at Ontario Christian High School. “During our investigation, we learned Villasenor was obsessed with school shootings and police response times,” stated Lorenz. He added, “He researched tactical supplies and was in the process of choosing a specific date to carry out the school shooting.”

Extensive arsenal discovered in the suspect’s home

Upon Villasenor’s arrest, law enforcement discovered a cache of weapons in his home. The confiscated arsenal included seven rifles, two revolvers, one handgun, and one shotgun. Additionally, the police seized over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. The weapons were legally owned by the suspect’s parents, as confirmed by the authorities.

Details of the suspect’s intentions

During interviews with Villasenor, Ontario Police found that he had at least five specific students he intended to target, although the motive behind his plans remains unclear. Police confirmed that the suspect was not a victim of bullying, but had difficulties in establishing relationships with his classmates. He exhibited a deep fascination with the notorious Columbine High School shooting.

Chief Lorenz pointed out that the suspect had identified April 20th as a potential date for the attack, coinciding with the anniversary of the Columbine massacre. However, this year, April 20th falls on a weekend, leading investigators to suspect that the incident might occur around that timeframe.

Serious charges laid against the suspect

The District Attorney’s Office filed five felony charges of attempted murder and one felony charge of attempted criminal threats against Villasenor. Law enforcement commended the brave action of the student who reported the suspect, as it likely saved lives and prevented a devastating act of violence.

Jason Gaudy, President of the Ontario Christian School Association Board, expressed his gratitude to both the police and the student who provided the vital information leading to the suspect’s arrest. “We’re grateful that this is not another version of this story. There are a lot of people that were a part of making that happen,” Gaudy emphasized.

No immediate danger to students and staff

Thankfully, authorities assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to students or staff members. Ontario Christian High School, its association, and law enforcement agencies are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the continued safety of everyone connected to the educational institution.
