Onondaga County Man Wins $1 Million Mega Millions Prize at Smokes 4 Less

James Holloman, from Onondaga County, New York, became the lucky winner of the second Mega Millions prize, taking home the sum of $1 million dollars.

He won this prize after matching the first five numbers in the draw on November 17, 2023, which were 06, 12, 31, 33 and 69, with Mega Ball 17.

After paying the required taxes, Holloman received a one-time payment of $650,000 Dollars.

The winner had the second option of collecting the full million in small payments over 30 years.

Holloman purchased his prize ticket at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 Plank Rd.

The New York Mega Millions lottery has not only made Holloman a millionaire, during the 2022-2023 fiscal year, it generated sales totaling $492.3 million.

Additionally, Onondaga County school districts benefited significantly, receiving $150.3 million in education relief funds provided by the lottery.

The New York Lottery, which sells Mega Millions and many other games, is the largest earner in the entire United States and gave $3.7 billion in fiscal year 2022-2023 to help the state’s public schools.
