Mayor Onno van Veldhuizen is currently infected with the corona virus. He is currently in quarantine. The mayor of Enschede, who has often been favorable to FC Twente, calls on everyone not to underestimate the virus.

“After I got tested for the first time, I got pneumonia and a very high fever. I didn’t expect it to hit a fit man in his fifties so quickly and so hard. Can’t remember ever feeling so sick” , said Van Veldhuizen in conversation with RTV East.

Update: Onno van Veldhuizen was admitted to the Medisch Spectrum Twente hospital in Enschede on Sunday 25 October, 1Twente reports. According to spokesman Ton Kamp, his condition has not improved. “He had, and still has, pneumonia and a high fever. He’s not in the ICU. The goal now is to get the pneumonia and the high fever under control,” he explains.
