At the end of August, Bülten’s footballers went into the first half of the 1st district class B with a mortgage. The regulars Patrik Frühling, Patrick Dreißigacker and Jorma Schöllgen were seriously injured during the preparation and could not or not at all be used for a long time. That was one of the reasons why the BSC didn’t collect their first points until the fifth game. But the team recovered, they won twice in the course of the season and moved away from the relegation zone in terms of points. For the second half of the season, BSC coach Jürgen Simon hopes that his team will be spared the bad luck with injuries.

My record of the first half of the season: “Despite the bad performance, I’m not dissatisfied, because my team didn’t show a bad performance overall – even with almost all defeats. We only narrowly lost against MTV Wedtlenstedt, Viktoria Woltwiesche II and TSV Clauen/Soßmar, were even superior in some cases and could have won. But the goal threat was missing. That only improved when our goalscorer Patrik Frühling was fit again. In the last three games he made seven stalls, we got six points, that says it all.”

My player of the first half of the season: “I don’t want to single out anyone on this point. Our three newcomers Viet Tran, Jonathan Scharf and Leon Fiesel have done quite well. If they participate better in training, they could become regular players in the back row and help us even more.”
My bad luck in the first half of the season: “Our unlucky ones are Patrik Frühling, Jorma Schöllgen and Christopher Reinelt, who only made short appearances due to recurring groin and foot injuries. Luckily Patrik has recovered from his ligament tear, but Jorma has been out for the entire season due to his cruciate ligament tear.”

My highlight of the first half of the season: “After five defeats in the league and in the district cup, we won 4-2 against Plockhorst. Our first win brought relief and my players realized we could still do it. From then on things went well, but unfortunately the winter break soon began. We would have liked to have continued playing.”
–
My disappointment of the first half of the season: “We were really bad in the 4-0 defeat against Adler Handorf and the 6-3 defeat against Eintracht Edemissen II. Especially on defence, my players made catastrophic, individual mistakes that they rarely make otherwise.”
–
My expectations for the second half of the season: “We want to get off to a good start so that we can get to safe areas as quickly as possible. Our lead over the bottom of the table SG Rosenthal/Schwicheldt is five points. But that can change. Because I think that Schwicheldt’s first men have probably written off promotion and will give up a few players to strengthen second.”
–
The personal future: “I still enjoy working with the team. But now I’m 70 years old. I will be sitting down with our Board of Directors soon to discuss how to proceed.”
