A man in his 60s was seriously injured in an accident on national road 3 at Fåsetbru in Tynset. He was flown by air ambulance to St. Olav’s Hospital.
The accident happened when a car and a semi-trailer collided. The injured man was sitting in the car.
The trailer drove off the road and through the guardrail, down a slope and into the woods.
There it hit several large trees.
Tonight, work begins on pulling the heavy car out of the ditch.
It was first said that the road would be completely closed while the work was in progress. But now the salvage company reports that they manage to save the lorry by keeping only one field closed.
The traffic can pass in the second field. Some queues and short stops must be expected.
– The work is estimated to take between two to three hours, says Arild Walstrøm at Veitrafikksentralen.
Full stop for heavy traffic
There are no detours for heavy transport at the accident site, so when the road is completely closed they must either wait or drive the E6 through Gudbrandsdalen.
Passenger cars can take a detour via county road 30 around Tynset center.
Berginga was first scheduled to start at 13.00 this afternoon, but was postponed until tonight.
– We postponed the salvage to a time where we expect it to affect traffic the least, Walstrøm says.
The entire trailer is now in the ditch. Tow truck and crews are already in place to prepare for the clearing job.
The accident happened in a 50-zone, on a straight stretch just south of the exit to Fåset and Savalen.
