After a daring victory in the final of the prestigious Roland Garros tournament Iga Świątek has become a real media sensation. Recently, the media has even outdone each other in subsequent publications about the 19-year-old tennis player and it can be safely said that Poland has been overwhelmed by a real “Igomania”.

It’s no secret that sports success Iga Świątek paid with many years of sacrifice and intense training. However, her efforts were not in vain. The tennis player became the first Polish player to win the Grand Slam final. For her success, Świątek, in addition to the trophy, also received an impressive cash prize of 1.6 million euros and 50,000 euros for an earlier promotion to the semifinals of the tournament – that is a total of over PLN 7.25 million gross.

It turns out, however, that the tennis player will not receive the entire amount won in the French Open final. The tennis player will have to pay a tax of approx.10 percent amount received.

Until recently, the media speculated that the Christmas tax could be canceled. Pudelek, however, managed to contact the Ministry of Finance, which contradicted these reports.
