Status in action after reporting only on bTV. The son of Pernik’s prosecutor, accused of beating, returns to custody. The reason: an inspection by the Ministry of Justice showed that Vasil Mihailov violated his restraining order and left his home.
Today, a bTV team was able to speak with the father of the accused, the prosecutor Biser Mihailov. She was adamant that his son hadn’t violated probation.
– Do you have any idea if he violated probation?
– How can I tell you? The regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Pernik can tell you. As far as I know and I’m sure – he didn’t violate. With an electronic bracelet, under constant surveillance, there is no way to break the restraining order.
– Today we did an investigation in DG “Execution of Punishments” and according to this investigation he has been wearing a bracelet since Friday and was released from custody on Thursday.
– And what do you expect me to tell you? I’m sure she didn’t violate.
Yesterday Vasil confessed from his home that he had beaten people. His father refused to comment on his son’s words, saying there was a court and a prosecutor’s office.
Mihailov was released under house arrest on Thursday. He exclusively told bTV that he had violated his probation and had even been to the club on Friday night. Today, after our report, the Ministry of Justice conducted an inspection. He found out that Vasil Mihailov actually got out. Disciplinary action is envisaged.
From the terrace of his house, Vasil Mihailov yesterday showed he was wearing a tracking bracelet on his ankle and said he would go out anyway.
“In the shop all the time, I even went to the disco. On Friday there was a nightclub here, the pillow nightclub, and I had to free myself a little, after all, I was in detention for five months,” Vasil Mihailov said yesterday.
According to the wife of football manager Rumen Andonov, of whom the son of the prosecutor is accused, he got out on Thursday – just hours after they changed his size from custody to house arrest.
“I know for a fact that he violated the restraining order before they put the bracelet on him,” said Marijana Andonova, wife of victim Rumen Andonov.
Our check showed that Vasil Mihailov was free for nearly 24 hours without the mandatory location bracelet for house arrest.
In a statement to bTV, the Ministry of Justice says it has launched an investigation after our report. It found that the prosecutor’s son had indeed violated his probation. And again – disciplinary responsibility will be requested from the employees of the territorial office of the main Directorate “Execution of sanctions”, who exercise control over the implementation of electronic monitoring.
At this stage, Vasil Mihailov is still under house arrest.
