Only Koblížek was hit in the Battle of Moravia. Let’s take two points, we really needed a win, says striker Komety

The only successful executor in the fifth series was Kometa striker Radek Koblížek. “I wasn’t making anything up. I tried a punch, like I’m used to. Luckily it fell there. We get two points. It was a hard-fought victory that we desperately needed,” he said with satisfaction.

He couldn’t remember the last time he pitched a goalless game. “Both teams did a great job defensively and both goalkeepers performed brilliantly. It’s very good that Dominik Furch collected zero. We can count on him and Marko Čiliak,” says Koblížek.

He is pleased that his side have improved their spirits ahead of the upcoming tough extra-league duels in Vítkovice and with Sparta. “It will be a very demanding double match. We will recover well and obviously we will want to score more points on Friday and Sunday”, planned the Komety striker.

Brno assistant Jiří Horáček praised his players. “The boys worked one hundred per cent on the match. Thank God this time, unlike the previous match in Pardubice, we managed to attack and get at least two points. Our fans deserved them too, who pushed us into forward brilliantly,” he thanked the Kometa fans from afar.

Although Olomouc scored neither on play nor on penalties, they still took away a point from Brno. Former Kometa player Karel Plášek could have decided in the first five minutes but squandered a clear chance. And then he didn’t even succeed in raids. “I played Brno as an opponent for the first time, so it was a rather special duel for me. If I had converted the draw in extra time, we could have taken two points. During the raid I tried to put the puck between the legs of Furch, but I did it wrong” Pláška regretted.

Hanák manager Jan Tomajko was not disappointed despite the loss. “We played a solid game in Brno and thus continued our previous good performances. We created several shooting opportunities, but unfortunately we didn’t convert them. However, we will take the point,” confided Tomajko. Even his team can count on the excellent goalkeeper in recovery. “Honza Lukáš is in great shape now. Hats off,” praised the Olomouc coach.
