JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo said, only shopping government which can move the economy in a time of crisis like now.
For this reason, he asked his ministers to spend the ministry’s budget quickly so that the people’s economy could come back to life.
That was said Jokowi when opening a limited meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (07/07/2020) through a video that aired on the Youtube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday (8/8/2020).

“Then in an economic situation like this, who can move the economy. Nothing else, except government spending. Therefore, on this good opportunity I ask for everything to be accelerated. Especially those whose budgets are big,” Jokowi said.
“This is the Ministry of Education and Culture, there is Rp. 70.7 trillion. The Ministry of Social Affairs is Rp. 104.4 trillion. The Ministry of Defense is Rp. 117.9 trillion. The National Police is Rp. 92.6 trillion,” he continued to mention ministries and institutions with large budgets.
Jokowi also asked the Ministry with a large budget to make a standard operational procedure (SOP) for simple budget disbursement.

Thus, the budget can be immediately spent and drive the economy of the people hampered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
