Only fine! Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to cancel fines for traffic violations – Vesti.kg

In one year, 118.4 million soms were spent on collecting fines from violators

The Ministry of Internal Affairs submitted the draft law for public discussion. The document proposes to exclude penalties for fines for violations of the Rules of the road. The department explained that they took into account the appeals of citizens, as well as the economic situation of the country.

– The draft law will contribute to increasing the level of citizens’ trust in state bodies. Against the background of increasing penalties for gross violations of traffic rules and the introduction of OSAGO, the bill helps to reduce the negative social, economic consequences and tensions in the socio-political situation in the country, the justification note says.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a lot of budget money is spent on the collection of fines, on postal services, envelopes, A4 paper, cartridges, ink for cartridges, as well as on the expenses of bailiffs. The analysis showed that 118.4 million soms were spent on this in one year.

Previously, penalties were introduced to encourage drivers to pay on time. The maximum fine is now equal to the fine.
