only a small group of workers would return to the office full time after the pandemic in NYC – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – Manhattan’s largest employers are beginning to plan for the future of the post-COVID-19 way of working, and it appears that most of them are considering not going back to the traditional way before the pandemic.

Only 22 percent of large Big Apple employers will require all workers to return to the office full time when they finally return, according to a survey Partnership for New York City.

About 66 percent said they would adopt a hybrid model of days at the office and days at home, another 9 percent said they would not require workers to return to the office at all, and 4 percent said that ultimately, it would depend on the role.

Whichever model they choose, employers don’t seem to be in much of a rush either. Respondents said they expect only 45 percent of the roughly 1 million Manhattan office workers to return to the office in September.

The nonprofit organization conducted its survey in late February and early March. It was the fourth survey of its kind the group has conducted in the past year.
