Only 4 countries in Europe currently have COVID restrictions

Only 4 countries in Europe still have restrictive COVID measures for arriving foreigners, Forbes magazine reported. Unlike Bulgaria, where a summer wave is currently rising, most countries in the West have already passed its peak.

France mandatory requires from the unvaccinated a negative PCR done less than 72 hours before arrival in the country. The antigen test must be done less than 48 hours before the trip.

In fact, France has never abolished the PCR for arriving foreigners who do not have a full vaccination course. Even when the number of infected was minimal.

Although it is not mandatory to wear masks in shops recently, the French authorities have again recommended the measure to their citizens. The government spokesman reassured, however, that they do not plan to reintroduce national restrictions, but expect everyone to behave responsibly.

AT The Netherlands the ban on the entry of travelers from non-EU countries if they do not have a vaccination document or a health certificate is still in force.

I Malta requires every arrival to either be vaccinated or show a document of passing the coronavirus. You can enter the country with a negative test for the infection.

Spain recently removed the requirement for other Europeans to show proof of vaccination or past infection. But visitors from non-EU countries must show a negative PCR or antigen test result or an immunization certificate.

In Greece, the wave is at its height, most of the sick are young people

It is one of the European countries with a significant increase in cases in recent weeks.

A total of 110,185 new cases have been registered in the last 7 days, with the majority of those infected between the ages of 18 and 24. The cases are most concentrated in popular tourist regions.

Athens lifted all of its COVID entry rules earlier in May, impacting the number of infections, Western media reported.

Like Greece, Spain is also registering increasing cases of infection. The number of patients has risen by 60% compared to last month.

Globally, the number of new COVID cases rose for a fourth week

following a downward trend since the last peak in March 2022, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO).

There have now been over 546 million confirmed cases and over 6.3 million deaths from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

In the past week, more than 4.6 million people have contracted the disease, the number similar to that of the previous week. The number of new deaths for the week was down 12% from the previous week, with more than 8,100 deaths reported.

Finland and the Netherlands have now started preparations for a new vaccination campaign with booster doses after the summer. Noting the increase in new cases, authorities in both countries first

will offer the new doses to the most vulnerable age groups – over 65,

but soon afterwards the campaign will cover the entire population.
