only 3300 viewers for live session Green Deal – De Daily Standaard

Frans Timmermans, Mayor Aboutaleb and Talitha Muusse came up with the bright idea to hold an hour-long live session on social media about European climate policy and the Green Deal for youth. But it doesn’t seem to be very much alive among young people, because once the session was over, only 3,000 people appeared to have watched it. What. A. go down!

Within the Brussels ivory towers, high earner Frans Timmermans may be regarded as the undisputed king of European climate policy. But in the real world, the verbose Labor Party Santa is still an absolute sleep-inducing dummy. This is evident from his climate live session on Twitter, together with flopped Op1 presenter Talitha Muusse and fellow party member Ahmed Aboutaleb.

For those who want to boost the viewing figures of our Timmerfrans, see the entire recording here. Bring some matches to hold up your eyelids.

In the first six minutes, Timmermans already tells a story about how climate policy should also be aimed at supporting African countries. A young viewer is concerned about mass immigration and Timmermans makes it clear that he actually wants to buy them off indirectly. Pumping money and things into those countries should ensure that the population stays there. European climate policy is therefore also a form of development aid.

You can’t expect young viewers to go against that reasoning (for example, by asking what all the previous development aid has been good for), and that doesn’t happen. As soon as Timmermans has finished his entire plea, it is already time for the next question.

And so it actually goes on throughout the session: Timmermans and Aboutaleb receive ‘critical’ questions from children, make their plea and hope for the next one. For a whole hour. The intellectual wretchedness is great and harrowing.

A call from the editors: DDS, like many other websites, is having a very difficult time due to the corona crisis. We want to keep everything readable for everyone for free, so that we depend on advertising for our income. But companies have financial concerns, so they don’t have much to worry about. We also notice the consequences of this. Hence our broadcast to you, our readers: please support us! Through the reliable Dutch BackMe system you can donate monthly or once. Let’s face it, wouldn’t it have been much better if Timmermans had taken on a worthy opponent instead of this green suit? The world would be too small if Geert Wilders sat down with young people for an hour and gave a live session about immigration or Islam. But a Timmermans is allowed to bleat for more than 60 minutes about how he is going to spend mom and dad’s money on all kinds of nonsense measures of which his audience cannot foresee the consequences. And no dog watching. But who cares? Timmermans’ income is guaranteed.
