Only 17% of people killed by Covid had life insurance in SLP

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SLP., February 10, 2021.- Until the cut of the 4,299 deaths registered in San Luis Potosí, only 751 people had Life Insurance, that is, 17.47 percent of the debtors could carry out a procedure with insurance companies to protect your assets.

According to the updated report of the Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (AMIS), in the state only 417 people -of the 50 thousand 609 currently infected- have Major Medical Expense Insurance, that is, less than one percent (0.82 % approximately). At the national level, the AMIS indicates that of the 1 million 886 thousand 245 cases of Covid-19 in the country registered until the day of the report, only 1.31 percent of them have insurance.

In other words, for every 100,000 people, only 259 correspond to the insured population, while 1,496 correspond to the general population. “Only 11.3 million people have the economic protection of health insurance,” states the association.
