Sunday evening there was another update of the corona figures on the official COVID-19 website of the Surinamese government. It has emerged that there have been 34 tests and a total of 1 new case of infection with the dreaded corona virus.
Despite the relatively low COVID-19 figures of recent times and the fact that the current situation is showing a positive picture, there is no approved protocol for parties yet. That was emphasized by the Minister of Health in Suriname, Amar Ramadhin, on Sunday evening.
According to him, there is still an increase in reports about parties, but also clubs that are open and where crowds of people come. “We must all avoid this now!” the minister warned.
“If we take into account that there is a friendly and intimate atmosphere at parties, we know that the temptation is greater to ignore the measures. I hereby point out your own responsibility. You are the single most important factor in avoiding a possible next wave, ”says Ramadhin.
The public health minister urged society to use the click line 105 to report any illegal parties to the competent authorities.
