Temeswar (ADZ) – After the mayor of the municipality of Sekasch / Secaş uploaded a video recording to a Whatsapp group of the Temescher PNL local politicians, on which some of the leaders of the district association can be seen arriving at the restaurant of a PNL businessman, is in the branch a new scandal broke out. The video is said to have been shot about a month ago; The mayor of Lugos, Claudiu Buciu, the deputy and UVT rector Marilen Pirtea, Cosmin Buboi and Alin Popoviciu took part in the meeting in the “Pescada” fish restaurant in Ionu]Gai]², who had run unsuccessfully for the PNL in the parliamentary elections and Călin Roman, who were expelled from the party at the instigation of the new strong man in the Timisoara PNL, Alin Nica.
It was said that the participants were planning a conspiracy against Nica and that they were incited by Popoviciu, who could not overcome the loss of power in the party. After Nicolae Robu lost the mayoral election in Timisoara, while Alin Nica had won the district council chairmanship, the group around Nica and the mayor of Großsanktnikolaus / Sânnicolau Mare, Dănuț Groza, was able to oust the Robu Popoviciu wing and the latter, together with the convicted son of Exclude the mayor of Detta, Călin Roman, from the party. Popoviciu is planning a comeback, however, and was able to gather around those PNL members who are supposed to be devoted to him for various reasons, some allegedly because they are blackmailed by him or at least could be blackmailed, as some local media have written.
There is now speculation about who was responsible for the surveillance operation. On the one hand it was said that this was Dănuț Groza, who wants to rise from Grand Saint Nicholas to become the most important puller in the district; His camp then spread information that the monitoring of the meeting was arranged by Popoviciu himself, so that he had another means of pressure against the participants in the meeting. The mayor of Lugosch, who had already criticized the new PNL district management at the end of 2020, reacted the hardest to the publication. Now Claudiu Buciu said that he was indeed in the round and that there was nothing wrong with it at all. In the Temescher PNL there are still people who are able to develop their own ideas and to exchange ideas. Under the current leadership, however, the Temescher PNL has degenerated into a communist enclave in which the exchange of ideas between members who are not acceptable to the top management are classified as conspiracies. The district leadership lacks “masculinity” and that will cost the party numerous votes. Nica and his friends are villains, their behavior is pathetic. Buciu therefore decided to stop any cooperation with the PNL district association leadership, but he will continue to publicly denounce the missteps of the management team and above all Nicas, Buciu is said to have written to his PNL mayor colleagues and then left their Whatsapp group.
Marilen Pirtea, who is believed to be the unofficial leader of the conspirators, said it was not a conspiracy at all. Gaiță, the restaurant owner, had invited him to talk about the parliamentary elections. He went there without knowing who else would be there. Then he discovered that several people were involved and that some were indeed criticizing the situation in the district. But he himself was gone quickly, said Pirtea. He also did not hide his participation from Alin Nica, no secret strategy or the like was discussed. He wanted to address internal party problems in direct discussions with the association chairman Nica and not hide. If the meeting at the “Pescada” is supposed to have been a conspiracy, then conspiracies are no longer what they used to be, the MP continued. He also couldn’t understand why Buciu, the Lugoscher mayor, was so angry.
There were no scandals in the Timisoara PNL association, said the district council chairman and provisional district party leader Nica. There is only tension, but it is normal before board elections. After the loss of the elections in Timisoara, the Bucharest PNL chairman Ludovic Orban dissolved the board of directors of the district and city associations, entrusted Nica with the interim management and scheduled new elections.
