There is a new online quiz for the Aachen Shrine Tour with questions about the pilgrimage. Two students from Würselen developed the knowledge test and also programmed an app for the brain teasers.
The Quiz is intended to encourage young people in particular to deal with the topic in a playful way. The written questions are supplemented by a video quiz, as the diocese explained.
This year’s sanctuary tour with church services, cultural events and the traditional worship of relics should go under the motto “Discover me!” take place from June 18th to 28th.
Four cloth relics in the center of the pilgrimage
Due to the corona pandemic, it has been postponed to 2023. The pilgrimage has been held every seven years since 1349. The most recent event in 2014 attracted around 120,000 guests.
The pilgrimage focuses on four cloth relics that were given to Charlemagne in 799. In them the believers venerate the dress of Mary from the night of the birth, the diapers of Jesus, the loincloth of the crucified and the decapitation cloth of John the Baptist.
