“Swedbank” has come up with good news for traders on the Internet. The bank has announced that starting today, March 28, it offers payments with the “Apple Pay” solution to the owners of e-commerce platforms in all three Baltic countries.
As for buyers, when paying for a purchase on the Internet, you can now use not only a bank payment card or Internet bank, but also the Apple Pay digital wallet. This option is available to those who shop at merchants who use the “Swedbank EveryPay” payment solution. Merchants who want to offer payments via Apple Pay must activate this option in their Swedbank internet bank.
The head of Swedbank’s money management department, Valdis Vaišlia, explains that over the past three years, the interest of customers to make payments using the “Apple Pay” digital wallet has been very high. The number of such payments increased 3.5 times last year and reached 50 million payments, which is already 20% of the total payments served by “Swedbank” at sales points. According to him, the new option will make it even easier to shop online, while it will make it easier for entrepreneurs to accept payments.
It is important that by offering “Apple Pay” to merchants on the Internet, “Swedbank” has completed the cycle of “Apple Pay” implementation. Individual customers of Swedbank can pay with Apple Pay since 2019 by adding a bank card to their Apple digital wallet.
