05:02 – Currently, 109,417 people are infected, of whom 6868 are infected in hospitals. 1008 patients are in serious condition in intensive care units. By comparison, 1133 were infected in a severe condition last Tuesday. With covid-19, 56 patients died on Tuesday, the total number of deaths climbing to 6,558 people.

The worst situation with the infection is in Havlíčkův Brod, where 675.34 people are infected per 100,000 inhabitants. Then there are Pelhřimov (539.4), Chrudim (506.63), Jičín (483.48), Svitavy (430.35) or Jablonec nad Nisou (429.04).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 469,769 people have become infected in the Czech Republic, of whom 353,794 have already recovered.

The covid’s risk score now stands at 70 points out of 100. It has therefore remained at the value at which the Ministry of Health wants to propose the mentioned measure.

04:45 – The European Commission intends to recommend to the countries of the European Union to use coronavirus rapid tests in order to facilitate cross-border journeys during a pandemic. However, the harmonization of testing methods, which the EU executive wants to support, inter alia, needy carriers and tourism, does not yet have clear support for Member States.

04:30 – German lawmakers will decide on Wednesday to amend the law on protection against infectious diseases. Demonstrations of opponents of the current quarantine measures were convened in front of the Federal Parliament building, but all actions were banned by the Ministry of the Interior. The authorities feared the escalation of the situation and possible attacks against the deputies and the Reichstag building, where the assembly sits.
