Online game festival Summer Game Fest starts on June 10 with live showcase – Gaming – News

Summer Game Festival, the online game festival of game journalist Geoff Keighley, starts this year on June 10. On that date, a live stream will be held at 8 p.m. Dutch time with a ‘world first’ showcase.

It’s not clear yet which developers will be joining this showcase on June 10, but Keighley speaks of several firsts and announcements. A teaser includes images from games such as Far Cry 6, Halo Infinite, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Overwatch images can also be seen in the video. Rock band Weezer will also perform during this presentation.

Partners participating in the event include companies such as 2K, Activision, Blizzard, Capcom, EA, Epic Games, Gearbox, PlayStation, Square Enix, Steam, Ubisoft and Xbox. Some of these partners hold separate presentations, according to the Summer Game Fest website. For example, Ubisoft will be holding a Forward presentation on June 12, and Steam will be hosting a Next Fest, which will run for six days and offer “hundreds of demos” for gamers. The EA Play Live presentation on July 22 will also be part of Summer Game Fest. In the near future, other developers and publishers will also announce individual events.

Summer Game Fest is competing with E3 2021 this year, which is also being held completely online due to the corona pandemic. That fair starts a few days later, on June 12. Several developers have already announced their participation in the digital E3 event, including Nintendo, Xbox, Ubisoft, Square Enix, and Capcom. Many of those developers also participate in Summer Game Fest.
