You will start the course by meeting the artist Flora Jamieson, an expert in stained glass art. She will tell you how she came to dedicate herself to her profession full time and the influences that inspire her, in addition to reviewing the contents of the course with you.
Next, you will see the materials needed for your project, from glass to a welder, and learn how to use them. After preparing your work surface, you will discover how to find inspiration through a concept map for your design. Then, you will make the first sketch, you will analyze how to lay out the cutting lines and you will learn how to cut glass and break it safely.
Here you will shape your work! First, you will cut each of the pieces as indicated in the previous unit. Later, you will check how to stretch and cut the lead before assembling the entire panel. Flora will show you how to weld professionally and how to putty and polish the work before painting it.
Finally, you will place the hooks to be able to hang it at home. To finish, your teacher will teach you how to pack and send the panels as a gift, how to clean them and how to keep them in perfect condition.
