Digitalization, artificial intelligence and future skills, teacher shortages, the consequences of Corona and school losers: teaching and learning in Germany is facing a turning point. Nothing is getting easier, but many things are becoming possible. A multitude of social, technical and economic changes are posing major challenges for schools and extracurricular learning locations. It is about nothing less than keeping up with these changes in order to support students, acquire future-relevant skills and make the most of their talents – regardless of their origin and background. At the same time, the increasing mass suitability of new technologies such as virtual reality or AI is also opening up unimagined opportunities to support young people individually and to train new collaborative and creative skills.
However, there is still a great deal of uncertainty at the moment: What knowledge and skills will be relevant in the future? What skills do teachers need to create innovative learning environments? How should schools and learning spaces of tomorrow be structured? Which partners would need to work together to achieve this? And how?
