ONLINE: Coastal or Fousek? Football elects a new leadership, Malík has given up his candidacy for vice-president

FAČR / Jan Tauber

We are constantly monitoring how the FACR election general meeting in Nymburk takes place and how the elections will turn out in the end.

11:14 – After the chaos with the number of attendees and voters, which was revealed by simple merchant numbers, the OFS delegate Kutná Hora, and the formal approval of the mandate, voting and proposal commission, are followed by a short break.
11:01 – Delegates are now debating how many are present in Nymburk and who voted. The numbers of voters and those present do not agree.
10:45 – In the end, the General Secretary of the FACR, Jan Pauly Jr., was elected Chairman of the General Meeting.
10:50 – The proposal from the plenary was not accepted, only the Moravian Chamber spoke in favor of it. The Czech Chamber was mostly against Řepek.
10:45 – Jan Pauly, Secretary General, was nominated by Malík to chair the General Meeting, and a proposal was made from the plenary for the Chairman of the OFS in Teplice, Rudolf Řepka, to chair the General Meeting.
10:29 – The President of the Czech Sports Union, Miroslav Jansta, praised in a short speech that football will hold democratic elections.
10:23 – I will not keep my fingers crossed for any candidate, I believe that football will choose the best lead, Malík finished his performance.
10:21 – In a short speech, Martin Malík told the delegates that he raised the interests of football above personal ambitions and gave up his candidacies for both positions, which he applied for. This means that he will not run for Vice-President.
10:17 -The General Assembly of the FACR was opened by the national anthem, the words were taken by the incumbent chairman Martin Malík evaluating the past period, when he was at the head of Czech football.
10:07 – The hall is already filled with delegates and guests, but the beginning of the general meeting is still delayed.
9:30 – The vast majority of General Assembly delegates are already present in Nymburk. A while ago, the head of Slavia football, Jaroslav Tvrdík, appeared in person.

The just mentioned 199 delegates with the right to vote are meeting in Nymburk, where today at 10 a.m. the twenty-third General Assembly of the Football Association of the Czech Republic begins. They represent and represent over 320,000 members, which the association brings together to decide not only on the new chairman, but also on the management of domestic football. About the Vice-Chairman for Bohemia and Moravia, about eleven members of the Executive Committee, but also about the composition of the commissions.

After the infamous end of the association’s vice-president Roman Berbr, who was arrested last autumn and later accused together with twenty other football officials, referees and delegates of corruption and influencing the results of the second and third leagues, the FACR led Martin Malík and the Strahov general to the election general meeting. which, however, neither Berbr nor his wife Dagmar Damková sat down.

Berbr, described for years as the most powerful man in Czech football, resigned, resigned from all positions and then resigned from the Football Association, his partner immediately resigned from the Executive Committee and resigned as chairman of the Steering Committee for the Czech Republic.

TWO ONE: With Poborský on the elections, the connection with Strahov and Sparta, the attacks they face, and UEFA’s candidacy

Malík originally planned to defend the presidency, but eventually gave up his intention and announced his candidacy for the position of vice-president for the Czechs. However, he probably did not find enough support for her either, so he is expected to give up the plan before the Nymburk elections.

The candidacy of Vladimír Šmicr, who also resigned from the initial intention to run for the presidency and focused on gaining control of the Czech Chamber, and Jan Richter, chairman of the district football association in Chomutov and election manager ANO, is too strong for Malík to be able to face. , not to mention others interested in this position. After all, for example, the owner of Viktoria Plzeň, Adolf Šádek, had already calculated it in advance and withdrew his candidacy.

A total of 128 delegates vote in the Czech Chamber.

TWO FOR ONE: Fish and football stink from the head. That is why Šmicer calls for five Strahov heads

The situation in Moravia is even more confusing. Together with the ending vice-chairman Zdeněk Zlámal, a crowd of his challengers is preparing for the fight for the leader of football Moravia. For example, the mayor of Prostějov František Jura, a lawyer Jiří Šidliák, who worked for years in the appeal committee of the FACR. He resigned in 2018 after a change in the statutes, in his opinion a very unfortunate and disadvantageous Moravian chamber. Václav Salač, an entrepreneur and chairman of football Heršpice playing III, is also interested in the position of vice-chairman. class.

A total of 71 delegates vote in the Moravian Chamber.

TWO ON ONE: With Fousek about sweeping Strahov, Berbr’s funerals and why he should lead football

However, the greatest interest is focused on the election of a new chairman. He will decide between the football international Karel Poborský, who currently works in Strahov as the director of the talented youth department, and the long-standing official Petr Fousek, who in the past worked as the general secretary of the FACR and later as an advisor to former chairman Miroslav Pelta. He has worked for UEFA and FIFA in Greece for the last three years.

Originally, another representative, Vladimír Šmicer, applied for the position of chairman, but he withdrew his candidacy on May 20 and, on behalf of F-evolution, which sought change in Czech football, supported Fouska.

To be elected chairman in the first round, it is necessary to obtain an absolute majority of votes in the Czech and Moravian Chambers. However, this variant is unlikely. According to the latest forecasts, Poborský should have the upper hand in the Czech Chamber, while Fousek should have the upper hand in the Moravian Chamber. In the second round of elections, an absolute majority of all votes will suffice for one of the candidates to be elected. If 199 delegates were present, it would mean that 100 votes would be enough to win and preside over the presidency.
