HAARLEM Due to the corona measures, the Alzheimer Trefpunt cannot hold physical meetings and that is why an online Trefpunt will be held on Friday 18 June from 4 p.m. This time the topic is ‘Daytime activities and the effect on people with dementia’.
The design of a room, doing the right activities and doing them well has a major impact on the well-being and behavior of people with dementia. On Friday 18 June, moderator Silvia Adrichem will talk to Roos Zwart. Originally trained as an interior architect, later working as a caregiver and activity supervisor in elderly care, she focused on the processing of stimuli by people with dementia.
Roos Zwart works as a teacher and advisor, among others for the CCE, the Center for Consultation and Expertise. Topics that will be discussed are: what should you take into account when you are going to do activities with someone with dementia, how can you motivate someone; if someone goes to day care, what should you take into account and how do you prepare someone if someone with dementia shows misunderstood problematic behavior?
