Bucharest (ADZ) – A study by the NGO “Salvați Copiii România” shows that 28 percent of students in pre-university education and 43 percent of teachers lack financial means for online lessons. The statistics were compiled in collaboration with the Association of Educational Unions “Spiru Haret”, the National Council of Schoolchildren and the National Federation of Parents’ Associations in the pre-university education sector.
The deficit in online education in rural areas is 10 percent higher than in the urban environment. The difference between kindergarten and elementary school children and high school students exceeds ten percent.
In a press conference, President Klaus Johannis described this not as a problem of administrative details, but as a catastrophe. One now has to look for solutions and not for guilty parties in order to prevent the emergence of a “lost generation”.
