The death of river fish became an epidemic – a third case was registered within a month, again in the Rhodopes – Chepinska Reka. The report of dead barbel, mullet and other species was submitted by citizens on phone 112. RIOSV – Pazardzhik confirmed the incident, a commission was formed. And from the message on the site the inspection reveals that the source of the pollution has not been established, the police are conducting pre-trial proceedings against an unknown perpetrator for criminal fishing.
However, RIOSV reports that during the detour it was found that wastewater was discharged into the river from a complex (beach and restaurant) in the village of Draginovo. But the measured current parameters of the surface waters – pH, dissolved oxygen and electrical conductivity – did not show deviations from the regulatory requirements. “An order has been given for the owner of the complex to submit the permits for the activity to RIOSV – Pazardzhik within a week,” the inspection also reports. Results of more water samples are awaited. Fishermen, however, believe that, as in other cases, the fish will end up… naturally dying due to lack of oxygen:
