OnePlus once boasted that its newest smartphone that will be introduced soon, namely the OnePlus 9 Series, has had several significant improvements in the camera department. Yes! OnePlus has also revealed some details about the sensors, the latest camera features, and its partnership with Swedish camera company Hasselblad.
It is believed, after being officially introduced, not a few people will be waiting for reviews or reviews of the smartphone. Of course, what will be waiting for is the performance review of the camera, which OnePlus focuses on improving.
However, for those of you who hope that there is a review from DxOMark regarding the smartphone, sorry it will be a little disappointing. The reason is, OnePlus 9 Series will not be sent by OnePlus to DxOMark. This is confirmed directly by Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus.
Through his account on Weibo, Pete Lau announced that OnePlus will not send the OnePlus 9 series to the DxOMark review lab. This announcement is indeed surprising because OnePlus is one of the smartphone manufacturers that has used the DxOMark score to market its products.
Unfortunately, Pete Lau did not reveal why. However, there is speculation circulating so wildly in cyberspace that the latest reviews or reviews coming out of DxOMark are believed to have flaws. An example is a review of the Galaxy S21 Ultra which many people disagree with.
With the decision taken by OnePlus, it means that we will not only see DxOMark’s review of the OnePlus 9/9 Pro camera, but also the display and audio quality. As we know, DxOMark also reviews the last two things.
For your information as gadget fans, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are not the only OnePlus flagship smartphones not reviewed by DxOMark. Previously, there was the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T which were also not reviewed by DxOMark.
In related news, OnePlus has also announced that the OnePlus 9 series will launch on March 24 in China. Yes! It was a day after the announcement on the global market. Unlike the events in the global market which are held online (live streaming), in China it will be held offline, aka face-to-face at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.
