India has reported 3,86,452 new Covid-19 cases and 3,498 deaths in the last 24 hours and it seems the situation is getting worse with each passing day. Considering the increase in Covid-19 cases, many companies have come together to help Indians fight this devastating second wave of COVID-19. Smartphone manufacturers such as Apple, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi have already announced their participation in the donations and, now in development, OnePlus has also announced that the company is committing to donate 400 oxygenators to help alleviate the immediate need for oxygen in the country. Covid-19 Second Wave OnePlus Contribution
Pete Lau, OnePlus stated in a Community forum post, that the current situation in India is heartbreaking and beyond anyone’s imagination. “I feel deeply for our community and employees in India who are facing the most difficult period of the pandemic the country has ever seen and we look forward to mobilizing our resources to help,” added Pete.
According to Pete, the country faces a shortage of oxygen concentrating devices and relief funds. OnePlus has decided to donate 400 oxygenators to help Indians fight the crises. Pete also suggested that the global OnePlus community has also expressed interest in making contributions.
“We have been using our social media platforms to amplify any #COVIDEmergency requests or any leads that may be of use to COVID patients. We ask that you continue to tag @OnePlus_IN with your emergency requests so that we can help expand your message through our social media accounts, ”the forum reads.
Additionally, the company has also partnered with GiveIndia to raise funds for affected and frontline workers. The global community can contribute to this too Link and raise a donation of up to Rs 1 crore. Recently, OPPO has also pledged to donate 1000 oxygenators and 500 respirators worth Rs 4.3 million to the Indian Red Cross Society and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
