The tablet segment has been dormant for many years. However, the pandemic and the need to have accessible communication technology inside the homes of people all over the world, has resurrected the demand for this equipment. As such, technology companies see an opportunity for their business. OnePlus has been adjusting the product offering and, soon, it may even offer a tablet.
OnePlus Pad is the advanced name for your next gadget.
ONEPLUS PAD – a registered trademark
OnePlus is (apparently) considering an entry into the tablet market. This assumption arises following the registration of a trademark in the EUIPO. It is the ONEPLUS PAD brand, thus suggesting the arrival of the company's first tablet.
The request was published on July 1st and hardly clarifies anything. There is no allusion to the concrete product type, design, specifications or features. The only indication is that this name is associated with an electronic device within a vast category, which also includes tablets.
According to various rumors, OnePlus will not be the only brand from the BBK Electronics group to enter the tablet segment. OPPO, OnePlus, Realme and Vivo are part of this group, there is already talk of a Realme Pad and also solutions coming from OPPO and Vivo.
In fact, the Realme Pad went from being a rumor to a certainty when the company released a product tearer during a recent event.
Now that OnePlus is getting ready to merge OxygenOS with OPPO's ColorOS, we can see this merge inscribed on a tablet. It's something we'll have to wait to see if the two companies are joining forces to launch a unique product.
