SUBANG NEWS – A few days ago, CEO OnePlus, Mr. Pete Lau, announced the company’s decision to “more integrated” with Oppo to be “more efficient” and to deliver “faster and more stable software updates” to its users.
And even though Mr. Pete Lau say that OnePlus “will continue to operate independently”, there are still some unanswered questions, one of which is around the use of the custom Android interface on smartphone OnePlus.
Global version of smartphone OnePlus so far running OxygenOS, while the Chinese model runs HydrogenOS before being replaced by ColorOS Oppo.
Thus, the customer OnePlus worry if OxygenOS will eventually be replaced with ColorOS due to the company’s deeper integration with Oppo.

While Mr. Pete Lau confirms that “OxygenOS will remain the operating system for the device OnePlus global outside of the Chinese market”, instead of clarifying further by interacting with customers and the media, an internal memo leaked.
This leak was published by Evan Blass, revealing OnePlus has asked its employees not to reply to “OS questions or ColorOS anything targeting the integration announcement” and instructing them to provide a specific response to the question.

“Currently we do not have any updates regarding the operating system. Keep an eye on our official channels,” reads the note.
This statement begs the question, because if OxygenOS not going anywhere, OnePlus should have asked its employees to communicate the same instead of asking them to give vague responses to OS related questions.
