OnePlus Nord may be less innovative than expected

Tra i fan OnePlus and more generally among smartphone enthusiasts always with the antennas straightened for interesting new products, there is great anticipation for OnePlus North (or OnePlus Z), the smartphone that should represent a kind of return to the origins for the popular Chinese brand.

According to the latest rumors emerged, however, the smartphone, however interesting because of a quality / price ratio that promises to be remarkable, may not be entirely new.

To give rise to these speculations was the last technical indiscretion that emerged about OnePlus North: it should be the first smartphone of the brand to mount a dual front camera. We are talking, in particular, of a set-up with a main 32 MP and an ultrangangular secondary 8 MP.

This technical detail, with related resolutions, led Max Weinbach to underline su Twitter the obvious similarities between the chatted OnePlus Nord and another existing smartphone: Realme X50 Pro 5G. Net of the fact that the brands in question always proclaim their originality and independence, the close family relationship is there for all to see: both are headed by the giant parent company BBK Electronics.

The contact points between OnePlus Nord and Realme X50 Pro 5G many are shaping up, from the design (especially from the front) to the technical data sheet. The new OnePlus should mount an AMOLED display with 90 Hz refresh rate and double hole at the top for the two front cameras. On the back there is also talk of four cameras.

However, OnePlus Nord will be a lower-end smartphone than the mentioned Realme and this different positioning translates into the only one downgrade technician known so far: while Realme X50 Pro 5G has a Mobile Platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, the announced spiritual heir of OnePlus One will have to settle for a (still excellent) Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G.
