OnePlus comes with budget smartphone called Nord CE 5G

There are renders, there are tweets and everything is leaking out about the new member in the OnePlus family. This time it concerns a budget phone called Nord CE 5G, where CE stands for Core Edition, in other words: the core edition. In other words: the stripped-down edition.

The idea is that OnePlus has opted for a design with this device with the aim of reducing the phone to only the most important things. Oliver Zhang of OnePlus has against TechRadar said, “You see a lot of mid-range phones with massively exaggerated specs.”

Zhang: “We deliberately avoided those specs and kept the things we think make the difference. Think of the everyday smartphone experience, such as fast charging, a 90 Hertz AMOLED display and 5G.”

bit exaggerated

It seems to be deliberately saying that it sees mid-range phones with exaggerated specifications, and not ‘other’ mid-range phones, because OnePlus also has a hand in exaggerating things. For example, consider how it first believed it wouldn’t spend money on its well-known IP rating tests because it didn’t want to pass it on to customers.

According to OnePlus, a video in which a device fell into a container of water was sufficient. A great statement, were it not for the fact that the same OnePlus released a phone with that IP rating not too long after that. In addition, the original OnePlus Nord also has quite a few exaggerated gadgets, including the quad-camera.

Leaked

In the night from Thursday to Friday, the device will be unveiled at 4 am Dutch time. Some leaks have been seen here and there, including by Evleaks who posted various photos and even a video. Evleaks is a well-known and reliable source. In addition, OnePlus often suffers from huge leaks, so there is a good chance that we are dealing with real images of the smartphone.

If so, then it’s a phone with a 64-megapixel main camera, a thickness of 7.9 millimeters and a 3.5 mm port (which you can use to connect wired earbuds).
